On my most recent trip to the States, I visited Ulta to see what type of brands were in there that have not been brought to Canada yet. While the ABH selection was amazing, and IT Cosmetics looked fabulous, I was drawn to the Lorac section. I have always wanted to try their palettes, as they have some of the strongest pigment, quality and longevity in wear.
After a long internal debate, I decided on purchasing the Lorac PRO Palette 3. It retails for $44 US and comes with 16 shadows. This palette is a neutral lovers dream, but with a twist.
The top row of the palette is all matte. The two first and third colours are a base dream come true. They are perfect neutrals that you can build your shadows on. The following browns are a mix of cool and warm tones, which are great separate and together. The khaki brown is a shade I thought I would not be drawn to, but it actually looks amazing on when I have a tan. Finally, the black is a staple matte which you can use for lining or for adding depth to a smokey eye.
The second row has a ton of great colours that can be used for neutral looks or a vamped up eye. They are all shimmery and can be used both dry or wet. To enhance the colour, I dip my brush into the shadow then spray it with a setting spray. This adds a high-def version of the shimmer to your lid and makes your eyes stand out even more. My favourite neutral colour is the second one in, almond pearl, and surprisingly, my favourite shade is amethyst, which I only have the confidence to start wearing now.
This palette offers a whole load of different look options, whether it is for work, a night out, or to even play around in front of your vanity. I highly recommend this palette to any of my fellow Canadians whenever they are able to head down to the States. A great gift for yourself or someone you know who would love a pro palette like this!
